Reverence

My reverence could use some work.
Sometimes at church, especially while we're singing songs like, "Gather Sunshine," I just can't help but use my old lady warbly voice. It is kind of loud and rather swoopy, gliding from one note to another ("every passing daaaaaaa-aaaaaaaay"). It gets me through the cheesy songs.
Sometimes Kevin sings in his old man voice (which is much louder than my old lady voice) during songs that are actually religious, and then I feel very reverent as I elbow him in the ribs.
I guess some people find it distracting and irreverent when people give back scratches during church. Kevin likes me to scratch his back and play with his hair, and today I managed to get one of Penny's hair flowers into his hair for almost all of sacrament meeting. I realize this wasn't as reverent as it could have been. But we were sitting sort of towards the back, so I think only like 1/3 of the congregation saw it. It was very pretty.

Haha! You guys are funny. I do not think back scratches are irreverent. I can see how an old man voice during the Sacrament hymn could be, though. :)

Some of those songs you just HAVE to sweep ur voice. And every time there is an "abroad" in the song.. I always say "A broad?".

I play with stickers all through sacrement meeting while trying to memorize the "Family Proclamation". That's reverent, right?

Dave likes to sing like that during just about every church song! Sometimes I join him! :D

We always switch parts during the hymns...Dave sings at the soprano pitch, and i sing the alto or the melody at an octave lower hehehe. We sang "Gather Sunshine" the other sunday, and I definitely swooped. :)
