The school I work at was originally going to be called Spring Water High School. The community it sits in is called Spring Water, and at the time it sounded like a good idea.
Thank goodness they didn't!! While we're sort of towards the shores of Utah Lake, I'm not sure how many natural springs they have here. I do know, however, that there is a certain very large spring of unnatural water that flows constantly. Yes, we are right next door to the sewage treatment plant. :)
This morning, I got out of my car at school and had to cover my face, trying to breathe through my gloves. If I breathed through my nose, I'd smell the full force of Orem's sewage; if I breathed through my mouth, I'd gag. What a horrible way to start my work day... every day.

Good thing you're not pregnant, thus enhancing your smelling abilities and gag reflex...
oh hang on...
the wonderful joys of Utah county and being pregnant! :)
seems like there is often a funny smell near where I work too. The lake smells bad, or they are using "fertilizer" at the greenhouse behind my office building, or there are funny smells coming from the men's room. maybe you should invest in a gas mask. :)
So I had no idea you were pregnant. Congrats! That is so exciting!
My fairy wings:
I made the wings with Royal Icing (I used merinque powder insead of egg whites) Merinque powder, powdered sugar and water. You pipe out the shape you want and let them dry. It's not hard, but they do break easily.
Yeah, Utah Lake is pretty nasty. One time I heard a missionary down here talking about how he used to take his sail boat out on it, and all I could think about was how gross that must have been. I wonder what happened to that body of water, perhaps before it was beautiful, and maybe someday it will be beautiful again-we can all hope.
Mmmmm, I think I can smell it from here! Is it making you feel sicker than usual? Or are you past that?
Congrats by the way! What a wonderful blessing!
