And today I am proud to say that Toby did his species proud and CAUGHT the mouse!! Yay! It was like having our own little nature show going on... right in our kitchen.
Kevin and I got home, and Toby was wanting to get into the cupboard under our sink. Right when he opened the cupboard door, Toby bolted in, then hopped right out. I looked back in the cupboard but didn't see anything. It took me literally about 30 seconds before I realized Toby was holding the poor thing in his mouth.
Howie came in to investigate, and Toby put the mouse down. Then Howie caught it and started growling to keep Toby away. Toby's a pussy and so his tail got all poofy, and then he left the room. Once Toby was gone, Howie put the mouse down and played with it, tossing it in the air, pouncing on it, and generally having a ball until the mouse twitched its last twitch.
And here is Howie holding the dying mouse in his jaws. He didn't catch it, but he's kind of bossy and just took it from Toby. What a jerk! But Toby doesn't mind, because we gave him TUUUNNNNAAAAA!!

This is Toby, the real hero of the day.

Here is Howie, sitting in the cupboard, hoping another mouse will come out so he can catch it an be cool too.

Oh hey, and guess what. These picturese were taken on our NEW CAMERAAAA! (said in good ol' Bob Barker's Price is Right enthusiasm)

I love that picture of Toby! Good job! Well, I have a couple of girls from my ward who are excited for TGT this Thursday, so see you then!
That's kind of gross. Did you throw up?
No way! I have a stomach of steel!! I thought it was really cool. Kevin thought it was really cruel, but I figured it was what happens in nature, and it was fairly short (for the mouse). But nope, no barfing. :)
Hey Chelsea,
It sounds like you are having way too much fun. And I noticed the baby monitor on the top of your screen. Congratz! That is so exciting.
I thought about you the other day and I am glad I found your blog. We will have to keep in touch. I am glad things are going well and again, congratz on the baby!
Ok, I like cats, and I'm glad they do their job about keeping vermin away, but I don't really like to think or observe them completing their task in action. ewww. I actually feel really bad about killing "george" and "gus" fortunately this year we didn't have a mouse so I didn't have to deal with the guilt! I guess I feel worse when the cats eat the birds, but my dad liked to say they are only getting the dumb ones so they are actually helping the general popultion. hmmmm
congrats on the baby!
I love kitties... I want one!
the parents didn't have trouble with mice or gophers when we had Ezzy. Now they have problems cuz.... no cats.
Go figure. (Mom doesn't want another one to help feed the coyote population)
Yay! I'm so glad that you are pregnant! Sorry that you have been feeling gross, but I can tell you from experience that it is worth it. Yayyyy!!! So glad that you have cats to catch your mice, we have an exterminator that come monthly... Not nearly as fun, but he does the job right? Congrats again!
So, I'm really late in reading your good news, but I still wanted to say, "congratulations!" It looks like you're almost through with your first trimester, so hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. Take good care of youself, and again, congrats on your wonderful blessing.
I like cats. I really want one, but I don't trust my children yet, so I have to wait until they are a little older. But again maybe that is Jim's excuse for not letting me get one. Hmm...
Wouldn't that be a great high school name. THE MOUSERS!
GO Mousers go, for the fur and for the claw-sung to the topper fight song.
So,this is the first time I've seen your blog in a long time...You're pregnant!!! That's awesome!! It will be the cutest baby ever! Good luck!
