Hands down, Penny's highlight of our trip was..... RIDING CAMELS!

| Mommy and Meimei got to ride a white daddy camel. I asked the guide if the camel had a name. He looked at me, looked at the camel, looked at me, and said, "CAMEL!" As good a name as any, I suppose. Meimei was pretty enthralled with the camel's fuzzy hump. It was a fun ride! The blanket made it quite comfortable! |

| This area is called the Flaming Mountains. It's famous because of one of the Chinese classics, Journey to the West. It's the story of a monk and his friends (including Monkey King!) who journey out to Xinjiang (the west) in search of the Buddhist scriptures. And I guess they came here! |
