Unfortunately, I have to remember that Bloggie has an audience, and while everyone in that audience cares deeply (thanks, guys!), it's not the most interesting thing in the world to read a long, rambling complaint post.
So I'll keep it to a minimum.
-Quick trip to grocery store. Penny pushes doll stroller. Cute as can be. Buy groceries. Penny refuses to walk home. End up carrying purse, 2 bags of groceries, Penny, dolls, doll stroller--oh, and unborn child size of large eggplant-- several blocks... in the rain. Not so quick after all.
- Pack-out this Friday. Need to sort and label all earthly possessions into 4 categories: luggage, UAB (arrives a week after us), HHE (shipped slow-boat-to-China), and Don't-Ship-This-It-Belongs-To-The-Oakwood-And-They'll-Charge-Me-For-It. Carefully sorted one box last week. Haven't sorted anything since. Penny boycotts naps. Weather turns hot and humid. Pregnant woman gives up and blogs.
And I was wondering why the dishes weren't getting clean!
But that does lead me to some good news. We're packing out this Friday. Then we leave for China like Wednesday or Thursday of next week. I should know that, but in case you were wondering, I'm just working on getting through this Friday. Then after that, I'll consider our move to China.

Really?? UAB 1 week later? Our UAB took 4 weeks to go from Miami to Santo Domingo, 5 weeks en todo...
Must be better logistics between DC/China than DC/DomRep.
Wow! You're almost done. Good luck with packout! The goldfish in the dishwasher pic is way too cute.
That grocery store trip sounds delightful! (Specifically, the walk back to your apartment.) What would make it even better is if you were having contractions during all of that!
Chelsea, are you SURE about giving birth in China? That means your baby will never be president of the USA! Think about it.
I would die. Props to you! I feel like giving up everytime I have to give my daughters a bath.
Wow, didn't realize you leave so soon! Hope all the rest of packing goes well! Penny's hair reminds me of didi's a little wild and crazy! She's super cute :)
That is a great picture. I love her tu-tu. What crazy times for you! Good luck.
Moving is so stressful and I wasn't going over an ocean just four miles east. Good luck, lady. I'm a little jealous and at the same time perfectly happy with my life in a country where I understand the language and have all comforts of American life :) Good luck. Love you.
@Dave: Okay, okay. 1 week is quite optimistic. Our friends who just came to DC from Tunisia didn't receive theirs for 3 months. However, our storage shipment arrived in China already-- making that 3 weeks. I'm hopeful for the rest of our stuff!
@Karisa: The baby will be a natural born citizen since Kevin and I are both citizens (as long as we promptly register her birth with the Embassy, which we plan on doing). So she'll definitely be in line for the presidency!
okay my goodness I can't believe it's so soon, but I am so excited for you! I hope that you can get everything sorted and ready.
Good luck! I hope today went well.

Since I am new 'round here, I thought the "slow boat to China" was just a saying! ;) Ha! We have pack out coming up in two months and I am already feeling the stress. But I have a whirlwind 3 year old that doesn't nap!
So clever. So Chelsea. I'm going to enjoy your blog I think.
