Driving through Hernandez

There's no way I could write about all the fun stuff I've been doing since arriving in America. We spent 3 weeks in New Mexico in my home town, and then my dad drove with us to visit my siblings in Utah.
As we were driving through Española and Hernandez, New Mexico, my dad pointed out the window at a church in the middle of a bunch of trailers and small houses. "See that church with the cemetery right by it? You know that Ansel Adams photograph that's so famous?"
Short answer: No. I had no idea that Ansel Adams had taken one of his very famous photographs a half-hour from my childhood home. But now I do, and here it is:

So yeah, famous artwork right by my hometown. I don't learn about it until I am 30.

How beautiful! I love an artist's ability to see beauty in things that I might not see.

I love that photo, and I love Ansel Adams. I read something about how he saw this scene but didn't have his light meter with him, so he used his knowledge of the luminescence of the moon to figure out the right exposure. So cool!
