Halloween Part 1

We have three Halloween parties to attend this year, and none of them are even on Halloween. And this is in a country that doesn't even celebrate it!
And here are the girls in their holiday finery. Penny is our little peacock.
Meimei is our little pig (in a blanket... ha ha ha!). Even though we don't feed her solids yet, she still knows what to do with a Snickers bar.
We had a great time Trick-or-treating at the consulate this evening, followed by an awesome party. There was some great food, games for the kids, awesome decorations, and even a haunted house that I went through while we were setting up for the party because I knew I'd be too scared to try it with all the special effects (black lights, strobe lights, voodoo doctor, etc.). It was super fun to work together as a small American community to throw a fun party. I've been starting to miss America and even feel a little homesick, but working on the Halloween party pretty much cured me. I'm now really looking forward to planning Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities with everyone here in Shenyang!

oh so cute. Although you do realize that Penny is dressed as a male peacock? I don't know why I felt inclined to point that out, but I guess i am trying to look smart like Melanie...

Stuff I wouldn't mind getting for Christmas

  • Twin-sized sheet sets for Penny and Naomi (matching? flowered or something pretty, not characters)
  • Scrapbook pages
  • Fun refrigerator magnets
  • Fisher Price Little People Pirate Ship (for Penny.... though I would play with it too.)
  • Cute Stationary-- I currently write letters on notebook paper ripped from the notebook
  • Boy toys for William, age 9 months-18 months or so
