Trying to be healthy

Sometimes I try to be healthy. In fact, as I never try to be UNhealthy, it's probably safe to say that I always try to be healthy. Or at least neutral.
I consider myself somewhat of an expert in this area, so please take careful notes as you read the following.
1. Substitute unhealthy snacks with healthy ones. For example, if you feel that you consume too many M&M's, try buying Raisinets instead. Raisins are dried grapes, which are FRUIT!
2. Don't drink KoolAid instead of water unless you want to gain weight. Don't ask me how I know this.
3. Eat smaller portions. If you buy an entire pork burrito (enchilada style) at Cafe Rio, save the last third for tomorrow's lunch. This is also a great way to make people jealous. And jealousy is just a step away from friendship!
4. Never make desserts unless people are coming over to help you eat them. You'll notice my favorite loophole: there is no limit on how many times you can invite people over in a given period.
5. Exercise doesn't always mean you'll lose weight. (See item 2).
6. Chinese people are skinny. This is because they don't eat American Chinese Take-out food.
7. Hard boiled eggs are small, healthy, filling, and individually packaged. The yolks are also choking hazards if you just pop them into your mouth all at once.
8. Don't feel pressured to finish all the food on your plate. If you're not hungry, you don't have to eat it. This is why you should save your lima beans for last.
9. Exercise is an important part of being healthy. So I always try to walk from my house to the car and then from the car to my office. I reverse that at the end of the day. Whew! I'm winded just thinking about it!
10. Eat whole grains instead of processed white flour. This means fewer Cheetos and more popcorn.

I hope you've learned something.

Ummm...did you write this in response to the blog entry I wrote today, or do we just read each other's minds?? Great advice, Chels! Thanks!

I did extra exercise today: now that we are on campus I walked to and from the Devotional from the Morris Center. :D That's twice the amount I get daily (to and from the car, possibly around the grocery store)

I now truly understand why this is funny! i called a gym here to find out membership costs, they kept calling me back trying to convince me to join..i eventually did last week when they put the price down for me. and the next day they are trying to convince me to get a personal trainer too????? can you believe it!

what we need is calorie free yummy food. whomever finds it i want to know about it! the joy

Great entry. I just need to stop being hungry! I've got the excersize thing down pretty good... usually. I just enjoy eating way too much.

sigh.. if only Jack-in-the-box burgers and fries weren't so darn DELICIOUS!

Loved this post, it was very funny. My confession? Some days I don't even leave my house-so ask me how much I exercise... Sad I know, but I'm happy to at least not be gaining weight...

Thank you I have been looking for a new diet plan.

Hey, just substitute your koolaid for Crystal Light. It has a very minimal amount of calories. like 5 per glass. And then fresca is like 0 calories. and otter pops are only 20. So you can feel like you are eating sugar without doing so....But I have heard that piling a couple of inches of peanut butter on your bread voids all the calorie counting you did that day.

Another thought on ice cream: Milk calms heartburn. Cold calms heartburn. Eat ice cream!!!

so does that mean that a donut for breakfast and another for lunch, a bag of doritos with some pepsi to wash it down and some peanut m&ms for a snack is not a healthy diet? who knew!!
