Sometimes I try to be cool. Like, I wear pants that are long enough to cover my socks, whether they be white or black. (ha ha. I actually wear bright Costco socks most of the time). I update my haircut once in a while, and I work on having good conversation skills.
But there are some parts of my nerdiness are unabashed.
Tonight I'm watching Star Trek on my laptop. When I was living in China (translating Chinese documents into English -- see, I'm a nerd), I bought the entire 7 seasons of Star Trek the Next Generation on DVD. I think Data's hilarious and Wesley Crusher is just so cute! But my favorite part of my DVDs is that the main menu and the subsequent menus look -- AND SOUND -- like the computer screens on the show. So as I'm clicking through to find my episode, it makes appropriate beeps and computer noises so I sound like I'm actually sending the Enterprise into hyperspace.
Okay. I'm going to finish watching it and then pretend to be cool again. But you know the real story now. :)

Stuff I wouldn't mind getting for Christmas
- Twin-sized sheet sets for Penny and Naomi (matching? flowered or something pretty, not characters)
- Scrapbook pages
- Fun refrigerator magnets
- Fisher Price Little People Pirate Ship (for Penny.... though I would play with it too.)
- Cute Stationary-- I currently write letters on notebook paper ripped from the notebook
- Boy toys for William, age 9 months-18 months or so

I think it is funny that you and Merry both blogged about being nerdy.
Clint has rented every single season of Next Generation from the library and for weeks and weeks we watched them. It must run in the family...
What?!? U have all 7 seasons? I am so jealous. So so jealous. Next time u go to China could u pick up some for me?
Its really too bad I don't live close. I would come visit u just for that reason alone.
Sigh.
ps: did you know there's a new star trek movie coming out? it's like "before star trek" sorta thing, I think. Looked good to me:

You know, If you lived in Los Alamos you wouldn't be considered a nerd just for watching Star Trek.
When James and I taught the 12/13 year olds in Sunday School, we would use episodes from Star Trek for examples (They have great moral plots). But we had to stop because none of the kids had ever seen Star Trek, they thought it was some kind of Star Wars spin off.
You're funny.
Hey, the little santa I got at the dollar store our freshman year is sitting in my bathroom and the little tree is in my living room. Do you still have that funny little bear nativity?
Have you seen "The Big Bang Theory" yet? It's a fabulous show, and one that I think you would appreciate, especially b/c of where you grew up!
